The Royal Blanket Unveiled

A little while ago I posted about a lovely campaign that Pampers were running which involved putting together a massive blanket for the (then) soon to arrive new royal baby. The fact that this campaign also served to support the fabulous Home-Start UK charity made this a brilliant idea.

The campaign received overwhelming support from all over the globe  with many  parents sharing their best wishes and support for the royal couple as they became new parents for the first time. And for every message received Pampers agreed to donated a nappy to Home-Start UK.

In the end a staggering 100,000 nappies were given to the HomeStart charity and the blanket…. well I think it worked out pretty nicely:

Now the blanket has been finished and unveiled Pampers intend to donate these brightly coloured sections in frames to a variety of neonatal and children’s hospitals around the UK.

Well played Pampers, a brilliant way to welcome the new prince, help a family charity and also bring Mums and well-wishers together.

The Great Family Road Trip

Anyone who has been anywhere near my social media accounts recently will have spotted the link to my piece for the Tesco Magazine which was all about what to do and where to go in Yorkshire and the North East (if you missed it here it is).

For those of you who are outside of my local area and who perhaps don’t fancy the North East for a trip this year there is a fabulous campaign which has been led by Tesco Mag called the Great Family Road Trip and it focusses on the whole of the UK.

The idea behind this fabulous campaign is to provide a one-stop place for UK families to search for recommended fun activities, places to say, eat and visit and more. It couldn’t be easier to access as all you need to do is visit the website here which looks like this…

and enter your location or the place that you are thinking about visiting to find the information you need.

The site really is packed with everything you could need and want for a fabulous UK staycation this summer so find entries from myself and other writers about their favourite places, let the kids enjoy the Kids’ Corner (with printables for keeping little ones quiet on the road), find holiday and trip information and much more. There is even a place where you are able to submit your own favourite places on the interactive map for other parents to find.

Tesco have done a wonderful job of saving people time and money this year and encouraging us to enjoy the wonderful undiscovered places on our own big island.

So, where are you planning on visiting this summer?
