We have a vast number of campaigns throughout the year for female cancer and yet men are just as likely unfortunately to struggle with these terrible and sometime lethal diseases. The Movember website sums up much better than I could what this event is all about:
During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of millions of moustaches around the world. With their “Mo’s” men raise vital funds and awareness for prostate and testicular cancer and mental health. As an independent global charity, Movember’s vision is to have an everlasting impact on the face of men’s health.
I’m sorry to disappoint you all but I won’t be growing my tash this year (maybe next year) however I am doing my bit to raise awareness. Please do have a look at the website which is jam-packed with information on how you can help.
As not everyone is into moustache growing there are many alternative ways of helping out. YourDesign for example have released a fantastic range of easy to personalise moustache mugs (guaranteed not to tickle your nose when you drink your coffee or tea) and for every mug sold they are giving 50p to the Movember fundraising effort.
I know it gets difficult as there are so many causes, so many charities, appeals and fundraisers out and about, all of which are desperate for funds to support anyone in need. If you aren’t in a position to donate to Movember why not buy a couple of these mugs as Christmas presents or just to enjoy at home. Two mugs = £1 to Movember.
If moustaches and mugs aren’t really your thing then do share this post, I’m sure there are many closet tash fans out there who would be willing and able to help out.
