On a Bedroom Tart Up Mission

As from January I will be on a mission. Kieran’s bedroom has been made over TWICE since we moved in a year ago and Taylor recently got a new bed and a fabulous little chair and footstool set which he calls his Numberjacks chair (CBeebies has a lot to answer for). The only bedroom that has not been given any special attention is ours!

Our bedroom is the largest of the three being over 16ft x 14ft and also doubles as my office during the day. I have a beautiful white shaker style desk and filing cabinet which suits the room beautifully. I have two large sash windows that let the light in and…. an uncomfy bed that desperately needs replacing, including a new mattress, a Argos quick chuck together thing which resembles a wonky wardrobe (Roy’s wardrobe is outside the bedroom in a build in cupboard and I want that back for storage!), ONE bedside table and a set of drawers that have seen better days.

I am on a mission!

I want a new bed, something like this…..

Chantilly Double Bed

Bedding and the other linens such as matching curtains……

Pink Elise Bedding from Dorma

Some bedroom wardrobes that don’t look like the doors will fall off like mine do!

BIANCA V2 WARDROBE-625x550

And a whole host of other bedroom (and home) items. Poor Roy, I haven’t fully explained how much of the house I’m planning on re-doing in the new year just yet. I’ve started to collect inspirational images on Pinterest and have many more to add. I’d love to see to see your top homes / interior design boards as I’m always looking for new ideas!

Rodgers of York – Fine Furniture From a Family Run Firm

It isn’t often that I get the chance to explore and post about  a local business. My attention has been veered recently towards rodgersofyork.co.uk who offer a wide range of beautiful pieces of furniture for around the home. York is only a 20 minute train ride from me however I haven’t actually been to visit their showroom. I have done some digging though and know at least one person who has and who was thrilled not only with the quality and design of the furniture she bought (and the price) but also the customer service she received.

It is a sad fact that nowadays we tend to hear more about poor service than we do good so when someone says a company were excellent I sit up and listen.

I did say that I haven’t been to Rogers of York however I have browsed the website and have fallen in love with a few pieces (Roy will be thrilled 🙂 ).

First up is this fabulous bedroom set. It is very much in the same style as my shaker style office furniture and I love it! We are also desperately in need of a new bed and mattress so this would be  a win / win purchase.

Next up is this dining table set. I used to have a dining room once upon a time however it buckled under the strain of two boys and has now been converted into a playroom for them. The day will come however when I can reclaim it as a grown up room and when I do, this will be centre stage.

I just love the design work that has gone into this piece!

Many other pieces have made it onto my list including basically anything from this range (I love oak furniture!).

Quality Oak Furniture

For locals who are furniture buying Rodgers have a massive sale event currently running which ends at 6pm on November 4th so it is well worth popping in for a look (and bringing me something lovely back as a thank you for introducing you to them?).

Regular readers (and anyone who has visited my Pinterest pages) will know that I have a keen interest in interior design and love my furniture. Having heard nothing but great things about this family run business I am happy to share this with you all but have to say I have thoroughly enjoyed having a good browse myself and sincerely do intend to visit their showrooms before too long.

Now, I’ve shown you mine so it is time for you to show me yours. If you could choose any one piece from Rodgers of York to put in your home, what would it be?
