After my rant yesterday about my Blasted Energy Bill I’m in full frugal mode and so you mustn’t be suprised if the focus of quite a few posts in the coming weeks will be aimed at ways to save money.
Today I am focussing on getting away from it all. I did post recently about perhaps going on a cruise although that idea is probably one for the 2015 season now. Taylor will be a little older and more able to join in with the wealth of activities the cruises seem to offer. Also, I’ve left it too late to plan a cruise around everything else we have going on.
With my money-saving head on I have been looking to find a more local escape and cheap holidays for summer 2014. I don’t fancy 12 hour flights for the sake of some sunshine or something I’ll be paying for next summer however a break to Ireland sounds fantastic or perhaps some soaking up of the local culture in France?
In truth the more I think about it the more I think a destination not too far from home would suit me just fine and France is just over the pond, as is Ireland.
To be absolutely honest I am somewhat miffed about how much I seem to be paying for utilities as well as everything else so a holiday away which isn’t going to add to my spending misery is always going to be a good thing. The whole point of going away is to enjoy ourselves and if I pay over the odds for a holiday I’m not going to be good company!
My question for you today is: How do you search your summer holiday?
Do you use a holiday checker website which searches for the best deals?
Do you prefer a specific airline / travel agent 0r travel company?
I’m curious!
