Faber-Castell for Home and School

At the beginning of the summer the boys were sent a Faber-Castell distraction packs, fabulous connector pens, grip pencils, a mechanical pencil of sorts and even a rubber. The idea was for us to test these out to see just how good they could be for keeping the boys amused when out and about, travelling and for rainy days (or too hot days when you want to stay inside and lounge).

Needless to say the pack was a big hit….

Hours and hours of fun all from a little back of goodies!

What’s more as a parent I’ve become very fond of the Faber-Castell brand and so will be ordering more to stock Kieran’s school pencil case. The Scribolino Mechanical pencil alone has been a big hit with Kieran who says that he finds it easy to use, comfortable and that it helps him write more neatly.

I’ve been really pleased with the quality and how sturdy these materials have been. I might need to invest in a few bits and pieces for the office….

Playing and Learning with Faber-Castell

Faber Castell contacted us before the half to see if we would like to test and review one of their creative craft sets. These sets (RRP £7.99) are for ages 6yrs+ and provide a good few hours art and craft (as well as construction) fun.

Faber Castell and Kieran

Kieran chose the Desert themed set (Ocean Adventure and Jungle Adventure being the other options) which contained art work to colour and cut out with the Faber-Castell pens included which could then be connected together using the connector pens. If this doesn’t make sense then the easy to read instructions that come with the kit make everything crystal clear.

At 7yrs (nearly 8yr as I’m constantly reminded!) Kieran found these activities fun and could enjoy the set independently. Working out the connectors and how to put it all together provided more of a challenge however one that with some extra thought and trial and error he could overcome by himself.

At £7.99 I think these are a bargain as outside of the hours of initial play you still have top quality pens to use for other projects and using the connectors all of the pieces you have cut out may be used over and over to create new (if not somewhat unusual!) creatures.

These kits are available from Amazon and www.stonemarketing.com

Also included in our half term package was a set of colour grip watercolour pencils (perfect for Taylor at 3yrs and Kieran for more detailed art work) and the Scribolino rollerball ink pen. Both the pencils and the ink pen has been much tested and are easy to hold due to their ergonomic grip. Both the pencils and the Scribolino pen have been given pride of place in Kieran’s school pencil case and have been taken to class to show off.

Everything we received (for free in exchange for a completely impartial review) was of the type of quality that you would expect from Faber-Castell and as a family we were impressed enough to recommend any and all of these products to others.
