My Top 5 Soap Moments

The lovelies at Mecca Bingo have challenged me to come up with and share my favourite five soap moments ahead of the British Soap Awards on May 25th. In the spirit of these being British soap operas I have decided to ignore Home and Away and Neighbours (although they have both broadcasted some fairly epic storylines and cliff-hangers!) and concentrate on more home-grown shows.

There are so many fabulous soap moments I have enjoyed including the Emmerdale plane crash in 1993, when Viv and Terry died, when Sarah Sugden died after Andy set fire to the barn, when Butch died (sob!), when Cameron died (I am a morbid beggar!), When Kat told Zoe she was her mother, pretty much anything to do with Kim Tate, Den Watts and Angie, Bet and Alec or our Babs but the list has to be written so here they are, in no particular order are my favourite five soap moments. Are any of these on your list?

The Coronation Street Joinery Explosion and Tram Crash

When Bradley Died (Stacey’s scream was haunting!)

When Richard Hillman Drives Gail & the Family into the Canal –  (jump to 7 mins for the actual plunge but the whole clip is amazing!)

When Janine Pushed Barry Off a Cliff (Bitch!)

And last but not least… where Roy tells Pat he doesn’t like her earrings! (It had to be said!)

I could fill page after page with top British soap moments however Mecca Bingo asked for only five and here they are. What would be your top five or even your top moment? I feel like I’ve missed out so many here!

888Ladies and Millionaire Genie

Would you like a free £5 to use on 888Ladies on the Millionaire Genie game?” I was hardly going to say no, was I? I admit I have a bit of a thing for a spot of bingo now and then however 888Ladies was new to me so I thought why not?

As per instructions I registered and while waiting for my £5 account top up I explored the site. Lucky for me there was free bingo running (for newbies) and I managed to win 4000 loyalty points which I’ll be able to convert to actual pounds if I chose the make an actual deposit in the future.

While playing away I had the opportunity to have a bit of a nosy and I have to say that 888Ladies is by far one of the most simple sites bingo sites to navigate and yet doesn’t lack anything in its simplicity.

With my £5 loaded I headed over to one of the instants, Millionaire Genie, and proceeded to lose my £5. Don’t get me wrong, it took me twenty five very enjoyable minutes to do so as I would win a little and lose a little, and while lady luck wasn’t smiling on me that day I still enjoyed the exercise enormously.

For me sites such as 888Ladies and games such as bingo or instants like Millionaire Genie are a bit of fun. I don’t smoke, I don’t drink and being something of a home bod I relish a night in rather than a night out so a little flutter now and then with low cost stakes (on Millionaire Genie as with most games you can choose your “bet”) it is a bit of uncomplicated fun.

Is Millionaire Genie my favourite game? Not my absolute favourite, although I am glad I’ve tried it out as I did enjoy myself, and while I won’t be voting for it in the Which Bingo awards (for the UK’s favourite bingo games) I imagine many will. I will however be voting for 888Ladies in other categories as I’ve enjoyed myself on the site enormously.

I’ll be looking forward to seeing the results of the awards as these serve as a great way to find new games that real users have voted for and have enjoyed. Who knows, I might even strike it lucky on one of them?

If you fancy a go at Millionaire Genie (a fun game with everything to win!) and you do strike it lucky, do remember where you heard of it 😉

If not, make sure you vote for your favourite game and give the  fun-seekers like me a heads up on what to try next time.
