There is a running joke amongst my friends and family that I never sleep. I am a ridiculously early riser, often being up and at ’em by 4am and tend to fall into bed around 10.30pm – 11pm. Everyday is a busy day so you would think that I’d be on my knees however I manage well on a maximum of 5-6 hours sleep.
Having said that, the type of sleep makes a big difference. If I get 5 hours of quality snoozing I’m up and at them first thing, motivated, bright-eyed and bushy tailed. If I have a night where I am tossing and turning then I still wake early, get up and get on but am flagging for most of the day and this lack of quality sleep has a knock-on effect.
Recently neither Roy or I have slept particularly well and both believe it is time for a new bed. We have a bog standard steel bedstead with a memory foam mattress over the top. While we love the memory foam it is past its best and we really need to start from scratch but are torn regarding what type of bed to choose and of course the mattress type.
We’d both like another memory foam mattress but of course they are all different. We really want a medium – firm mattress (soft and my back do not play together well) we think.
Clearly we are a bit up in the air with what type of bed and mattress to get so I’m throwing the question out to you good people: How do you sleep at night? If the answer is fabulously then do share what you sleep on!
The only feature we definitely want our new bed to have is no end as Roy is 6ft 5″. Any other help or advice would be much appreciated.
