Festive Savoury Snacks

I don’t like chocolate.

There you are, I’ve said it! I don’t look forward to diving into a tin of chocolates or Christmas pudding. Trifle is okay but I wouldn’t swap my sprouts for some. It is safe to say that I am more of a savoury person as opposed to anything else.

I get hundreds of emails every month asking me to feature something or review something however I only get back in touch with those who I truly believe offer something fun, interesting or tasty. When savoury snacks popped into my inbox I was keen to investigate.

I was sent some fabulous savoury treats from crostamollica.com , chooseliberation.com and even some from Sainsburys which is my supermarket of choice at the moment. Being such a kind and considerate blogger I carefully tasted each and every piece from these generously sized packages so that I may properly describe them in detail.

They were very tasty.

From chooseliberation.com came Fairtrade nuts (I am a staunch supporter of FT as I have written about before) which came in Oven Baked Chilli and Lime Cashews with Peanuts and Roasted Corn and Oven Baked Salted Cashews and Peanuts. As well as ticking the Fairtrade box these nibbles really are the things you want to serve to friends and family over Xmas or enjoy as part of your own special festive nibbles.

My personal favourites were the chilli and lime variety as they were tangy as opposed to being overly hot and were tasty and very moreish. I will definitely be buying some more of these.

Next up I dived into the Crostini with Oregano from Crosta & Mollica (crostamollica.com). These are fabulous on their own, topped with pate, dipped into soup or into dip. The generously sized bag had a very respectable amount inside and was enjoyed by all.

Crosti

Next up we enjoyed Tarallini with Pugliese Tomato. These tasted…. exclusive for the want of a better word. Special, new in some way and most definitely tasty. These were enthusiastically enjoyed by being dipped into a sweet chilli sauce and on their own.

Tarallini

Last but not least we had some very decent sized bags from Sainburys which included roasted and mixed nuts and roasted fairtrade cashews, both of which are part of the Christmas range currently at Sainsburys. These were moreish! Very tasty, flavoursome and loved by all when rigourously tested 🙂

You probably have your turkey, your veg list may be in order and I’m guessing you have tins of chocs squirreled away. Now is the time to get your savoury snack shopping organised and you won’t go wrong with any of these deluxe tasting savouries.

This piece is about savoury snacks however as my Crosti and Mollini package contained some sweet treats I feel I must include them. I didn’t eat any of these but am reliably informed by Roy (speaking between mouthfuls) that they were all absolutely delicious!

*I was sent these snacks to test and review as part of this Christmas foodie feature. I took this instruction very seriously and each and every morsel has been throroughly tasted
