Not an artistic shot of a beach, of life in a foreign country or wildlife in a far off land.
This is a picture of a first, and hopefully not the last.
You see, I am a Mum and so far, the only time I’ve left the kids overnight has been for a night when I went in for steroids prior to Taylor’s C-Section and when Taylor arrived. Necessarily absence only.
Next month I am packing my bag and travelling to the exotic land of Nottingham (get me!). I am have a girlie weekend with my best friend Natalie. We will eat brownies and chinese food, we will drink far too much Baileys, put a chick flick on and ignore it in favour of talking ten to the dozen and generally just putting the world to rights. I CAN’T WAIT!
I’m going away to be a GIRL!
Again, not very exotic but much needed and much anticipated. Leaving the boys voluntarily… well I have to at some point!
Watched out Nottingham, double trouble is coming your way!

Gosh, the first time you have left them. Wow.
Have a super time.
Xx
Oh I’m sure we will :p
Wow you deserve your girls break in Nottingham I really hope you are able to let your hair down and have some grown up fun 🙂 xx
Oh we will, and will try and behave too (ahem)
I love it. Can’t remember the last time I had a girls night out or in for that matter so have a fabulous time
Thank you- I am ridiculously excited!
I totally get all of it except…why do you need six tickets?
Lol! It’s an advance ticket (therefore cheaper) so you get a ticket for each leg of the journey and seat reservations.
I am sure you are going to have the most brilliant girly weekend- I haven’t left my daughter over night yet either. Have fun! x
I suspect I’ll wobble a bit but I’ll be strong 🙂
I am puzzled by the number of tickets too! Have a great time.
There’s nothing like it. You will feel like a completely different person, and you’ll be surprised how quickly you stop worrying. Have fun x
They are just the weekends, when your just you, relaxing and not hearing ‘mummy’ every second! Hope you have a great time! Nat
Thanks! No doubt I will text and ring home SEVERAL times but regardless, plan on a fantastic and much needed weekend!
Sounds like you are going to have a lot of fun! You don’t need to travel far to have a good time – it’s all about the company!
You don’t do you! I’m reliably informed by the big kid I am visiting that it’s 24 sleeps until I get there lol!
Sound like the perfect weekend to me! I have a spa day booked soon and I just can’t wait! It is important to have a little bit of girl time. Enjoy. x
Enjoy! It’s good practice for CM next year 😉
Ah, now that is different. Taylor will be 18m and into everything and Kieran a surly nearly-6yr old. I won’t wibble at all lol!
Sounds like a fab weekend you have planned.
I’m leaving my son for the first time since he’s been born this Saturday but it’s only to go into town with some friends to celebrate my birthday.
I’m already feeling the mummy guilt but we deserve some girly time.
Hope you have a great time xxx
oooo, sounds amazing! have a cocktail for me won’t you? 🙂
I’m sure you’ll have a great time – I love girly nights like that. Last time I went to Nottingham for a night out I was dressed as a slutty policewoman..I’m not joking either.
Wish I could do that. Mine are still too young. Have a fab time 🙂
Ooooh, hope you have a fab time. Good shot.
Have a fabulous time. I left Freddy for the first time to go to Cybermummy. It’s a big step! Have fun!
Have a great time. x

a lovely way to travel, to spend time with friends, enjoy yourself (and by the way I have never left my youngest overnight either!)
